untitled (halo) – sex
Four in the morning, the rave behind you, the sky just starting to lighten on the walk home: that’s the moment Ariana Mamnoon says “sex” is built for. Despite the title, it’s a song about wanting the party, and it’s the most dance-minded thing untitled (halo) have done, a glitchy, restless beat with Mamnoon’s calm vocal floating on top and a crowd of echoing voices swelling behind her. It wobbles and grins, then pulls back in spots just long enough to catch its breath. The band shot the video themselves on a handycam between Los Angeles and Paris, same as for easy rider (W38) and aimee lou wood freestyle (W35). Their self-titled debut album is out November 6 on Dirty Hit.
